Roofing in KitchenerEverything runs out of Alness Street, in the industrial block near Keele and Finch. That location is roughly central to the region: Highway 400 and Highway 401 are both minutes away, which puts most of the GTA inside a straightforward morning move for crews, materials and equipment.
Practically, distance is rarely the constraint on a commercial roof. Access is. A downtown Toronto job is limited by a lane closure, a hoist window and a delivery slot, while a Milton distribution centre is limited by shipping schedules and yard traffic. A Barrie warehouse in February is limited by snow load and daylight. We plan each job around the constraint that actually applies to it, and the cities below have their own pages precisely because those constraints differ.
For reactive work, crews are dispatched from the yard rather than held in each municipality. The 24/7 emergency line takes calls from anywhere in the coverage area, and the response is a temporary watertight repair first, with the permanent work quoted afterwards. Details are on the emergency roof repairs page.
Our home ground, and the densest mix of building types we see: brick-and-beam conversions with tall masonry parapets, mid-rise concrete-deck offices carrying heavy mechanical loads, plaza roofs, institutional buildings and older industrial stock with gravel-surfaced built-up roofing.
Newer industrial parks, large single-storey floorplates, corporate campuses and mixed-use podiums, plus a design snow load that rises as you move north of the city. Drift loading against parapets, mechanical screens and adjacent higher walls is a bigger factor here than downtown.
This is where the largest roofs are. Distribution centres, logistics buildings, food processing and manufacturing plants, much of it single-ply over steel deck across uninterrupted fields, with roof edge and wind uplift detailing doing the heavy lifting.
The city pages are the places we work most often, not a boundary. We also attend buildings in Etobicoke, East York, York, Aurora, Newmarket, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Caledon, Halton Hills, Guelph, Cambridge, Waterloo, St. Catharines and the wider southwestern Ontario region, particularly for industrial work and for clients with buildings in more than one municipality.
If you hold a portfolio spread across several of these cities, the reporting matters more than the geography. Our property manager service keeps one point of contact and one consistent condition record across every site, whatever municipality each building sits in.
Call 416-456-0777 with the address and we will tell you plainly whether it is work we can service properly. If it is outside what we can cover well, we will say so rather than stretch.
The same thing in every city. A free roof assessment: we walk the roof with your building contact, open test cuts where the assembly is unknown, check the deck, drainage and perimeter, photograph the failure points and give you a written quote for the work that is actually needed. Municipal permit requirements, heritage constraints and street occupancy permits are confirmed with the local authority before we schedule, because they differ from one municipality to the next.
To book, call 416-456-0777, email info@northcanroofing.com, or use the contact page. For an overview of the work itself, see commercial roofing or the full list of our services.
Mobilisation is priced into the job rather than billed as a separate travel line, and it depends on distance, crew size, equipment moves and how many visits the scope needs. A small reactive repair a long way out is less efficient than the same repair nearby, and the quote will reflect that plainly.
Yes. Multi-site portfolios are handled through a single point of contact with a consistent condition record and reporting format across every building, regardless of which municipality each one sits in. Permit and access requirements are then managed locally for each address.
They change the paperwork and sometimes the assembly. Permit triggers, heritage approvals, green roof requirements, street occupancy permits and design snow and rain loads are set locally, and design snow load in particular rises noticeably between Toronto and Barrie. We confirm each one with the local authority before scheduling.
Into southwestern Ontario, including the Waterloo Region, Guelph, Cambridge and the Niagara area, principally for large-area industrial roofs and for clients with buildings in more than one region. Give us the address and the approximate roof area and we will tell you whether we can service it properly.
Tell us the address, the roof size and what you are seeing. We will book a time to get up there and put it in writing.
