Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 19:00. Saturday and Sunday, 09:00 to 17:00. Our emergency line is available at any hour for water entering an occupied building. Early starts are normal in this trade, so a call at six in the morning reaches a person rather than a machine.
What happens after you get in touch?
Nothing complicated, and no sales sequence.
- We ask what is happening. Building type, approximate roof area, roof system if you know it, where water has appeared and when, and whether anyone has worked on the roof recently. If you do not know the answers, that is normal and the assessment finds them.
- We arrange access. Most commercial roofs need an arranged hatch, ladder or lift, a key, a fob or an escort. Sorting that out on the call saves a wasted attendance.
- We attend and assess. Free of charge. We walk the roof, open test cuts where the assembly is unknown, check the deck, drainage and perimeter, and photograph the failure points.
- You get it in writing. A written quote for the work that is actually needed, with the assembly specified and the logistics set out, in a form you can hand to an owner or a board.

How do you find the Alness Street yard?
Alness Street runs through the industrial block north of Finch Avenue West, between Keele Street and Dufferin Street in North York. Coming off Highway 401, take Keele Street north; coming off Highway 400, exit at Finch Avenue West and head east. The area is signed industrial units rather than a retail street, so watch for the street numbers rather than for storefronts.
Visitor parking is on site in front of the unit. Please do not block the yard entrance or the material bays, since deliveries and crew vehicles move through them from early morning. Deliveries and material drop-offs should be arranged in advance by phone so someone is expecting them.
Most of our conversations happen at your building rather than at ours, which is usually more useful for everyone. If you would like to visit the yard, call ahead so the right person is there rather than on a roof.

Is the emergency line answered at night and on holidays?
Yes. The 24/7 emergency line takes calls at any hour, including overnight, weekends and holidays, for water entering an occupied building or storm damage to a roof. Have the address, the access arrangements and the site contact ready when you call, as that is what determines how quickly a crew can get onto the roof.
What should we send by email before an assessment?
Anything you already hold: a roof plan, the original specification, previous roofing invoices and reports, photographs of the interior damage, and a note of where and when water has appeared. None of it is required, but it shortens the diagnosis considerably on a large or multi-area roof.
Can we arrange a site meeting outside normal hours?
Yes, within reason. Assessments on tenanted retail and hospitality buildings frequently happen before opening, and industrial assessments often fit into a shift change or a planned shutdown. Tell us the window that works for your building and we will schedule the attendance into it.
Do you need someone from our side present for the assessment?
Not necessarily, but access does have to be arranged. If a building contact can walk the roof with us, the assessment is better, because you see the failures at the moment we do and can ask questions on the spot. Where that is not practical, the photo record covers it.
